a swaying power line window
defaces my eyes
I, cancer to the air
the cold pleases itself
against the bottom bare feet
and beautiful lines of paper point at
the coffee pot
my microwave visions are harmless lunch bellies
and i strive to make the most of my pre-afternoon
when will i shower?
shave?
I ask, constructing the future in my skull
i want to put tape over everything
laminate my body
my soft insides
i want to put up a million posters
and make things out of wood and tear out
pages from books that i can wear as masks
and say
“this is really something
isn’t it?”
my computer light hum
lack of cereal milk
existing together
now,
i mean, my blanket legs
and the onions i can see
i mean, the sunglasses dresser
or chapstick
or the jolly rancher
left on the end table
